Running Aces Opens Fifth Season Wednesday

Running Aces is excited to start its fifth race season Wednesday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus, Min. The purses are larger, the promotions are bigger and live music has been added.

At 6:30 p.m. a professional skydiver from Skydive Forest Lake will be dropping in with an American flag for the opening ceremony. After the anthem there will be introductions of some of the top drivers at Running Aces. The first race goes off at 7 p.m. and the track will begin giving away $150 in cash every 15 minutes until 9 p.m. There is also an Opening Day Commemorative Hanky giveaway with the first 500 programs sold.

Between races Wednesday, different local bands will entertain the crowd on the new stage overlooking the grass seating and track.

The 2012 race season will have live racing every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. There are 10 giveaway days and new events liked Superhero Night. The purses have grown about 16 percent from the 2011 season.

Running Aces Card Room and Harness Park is a cutting-edge Las Vegas style casino card room with live summer season harness racing and year round full-card simulcast wagering on Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Standardbred racing. The Winner’s Circle restaurant and lounge offers full food and beverage service, including a Thursday Seafood Buffet. The facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. (Running Aces)
