Sarandon Blue Chip defeats Major Look

Pacing fillies and mares were featured at the Meadowlands Saturday night and the winners were Rebekah Bayama and Sarandon Blue Chip, who both turned in big performances on Hambletonian Day at the Meadowlands.
 
Sarandon Blue Chip, who won the Miss New Jersey one week ago, captured an overnight this time out, scoring by 2 1/4 lengths over Major Look in 1:50.2. Sarandon Blue Chip and David Miller got to the lead first, but then Miller yielded to Major Look and Andy Miller and let them carve out the middle fractions. Then Sarandon Blue Chip rallied for the victory for trainer Casie Coleman, who owns the filly in partnership with Tom Hill.
 
Rebekah Bayama finished second in the Lady Liberty at the Meadowlands on Hambo Day and this time she was a winner, scoring in a career-best 1:48.3 over Royal Cee Cee N. Pat Lachance trains Rebekah Bayama while his father, Mike, handled the driving for owner Bayama Farms of Quebec.
