Trainer Jimmy Takter told harnessracing.com Monday morning that See You At Peelers will not be entered against the colts in the Little Brown Jug and that the 3-year-old filly pacer is currently at Cornell University where she is undergoing tests to determine her health status.

See You At Peelers had her unbeaten streak snapped at 22 when she finished sixth in the Nadia Lobell Aug. 29 at The Meadows, and although she crossed the wire first in a New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) division last Sunday night at Tioga Downs, she was disqualified from the victory as a result of interference in deep stretch when she bore left and bothered New Album, who was then placed first.

“They are going to do a 100-percent check-up on her today at Cornell,” said Takter. “Something is not right with her as she’s like an ordinary horse now.”

Takter said putting the horse’s health first is his primary concern, and not trying to make history with her in the Jug. “At this point I have to make sure she’s OK,” he said.
Takter said See You At Peelers has been displaying a higher-than-normal heart rate, and that concerns him.
“Her heart rate is high and she’s not urinating normal,” he said. “Her heart rate 12 minutes after a race is never over 90, and she was 129 at The Meadows, but I thought it was because she had a tough race. This time (after the NYSS) it was 118 and that’s not her.

“They’ve already confirmed her blood work has come back good, but they are doing a stress test on her on a treadmill,” he added. “Something isn’t quite right with her so hopefully they can pinpoint what’s bothering her. She’s just not the same horse.”
