Trainer Jimmy Takter told harnessracing.com Monday morning that while See You At Peelers was able to emerge from Saturday night’s $127,000 Tarport Hap at the Meadowlands with her 20-race win streak intact, the filly came up sick the following morning.

“All day Sunday she was colicky and didn’t feel good,” said Takter of the 3-year-old filly pacer whose earnings are approaching $1.3 million. “She was awful calm in the paddock (at the Meadowlands Saturday night) and awful calm in the warm-up. Normally she is real feisty so she wasn’t herself.”

Although the daughter of Bettor’s Delight recorded a 1:51 victory, it wasn’t easy and Takter said the illness told most of the tale.

“All day Sunday we had a veterinarian here,” said Takter. “We jogged her and she was not good. She was also laying down. I almost took her to the clinic but a couple hours later she came back.”

Takter said See You At Peelers’ next scheduled start is in the New York Sire Stakes July 28 at Yonkers. “The Sire Stakes is a week from Thursday so I’ll play it by ear.”
