See You At Peelers wins qualifier in return

Sloppy conditions at the Meadowlands Thursday morning led to the scratches of the $3 million-winners Foiled Again and Arch Madness, but the session saw a successful return to the racetrack for the 2011 Three-Year-Old Filly Pacer of the Year See You At Peelers.
Making her first appearance since finishing seventh in last October's Breeders Crown eliminations at Woodbine Racetrack, See You At Peelers scored a 1:56.3 victory Thursday over a "sloppy” track rated as two seconds off by the track stewards.
Trainer Jimmy Takter enlisted Brian Sears to drive the now 4-year-old daughter of Bettor's Delight in the qualifier. Sears sat third with See You At Peelers until rallying in the stretch with a final quarter of :28 for the neck victory over Myluvmylife.
See You At Peelers finished her sophomore campaign with nine wins in 12 starts, including the $613,020 Fan Hanover at Mohawk and the $307,734 Art Rooney against her male peers, and $916,611 in earnings on her way to Dan Patch Award honors. But her season hit a major snag when a virus that led to heart issues was diagnosed in early September resulted insome time off until the Breeders Crown elims.
"I trained her by herself in 1:53.3 last week at the Meadowlands and she felt pretty good,” Takter told The Horseman the day before the qualifier. "She'll need a couple qualifiers and I hope to have her ready for the Blue Chip Matchmaker.”
Takter's In Focus, just $42,000 shy of reached the $1-million mark in career earnings, also won his qualifier Thursday in 1:58.1. One More Laugh, the winner of the 2010 Meadowlands Pace, scored a 1:56 qualifying victory for trainer-driver Ray Schnittker.
