Services set for Carl Allen

Carl Allen, who developed such trotting stars as the world champion filly CR Kay Suzie, has died suddently at age 74.



Allen was recovering from injuries sustained in an accident in a qualifier at the Meadowlands in April, but his health had been stable until he hit his head while on his farm in Ocala, Fla., on Monday. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.



A memorial service will be held Friday, May 28 at 9 a.m. at the Allen's Golden Cross Farm in Ocala.



The family has requested that memorial donations be sent in Allen's name to the Christian Harness Horsemen's Association, 1846 Ross Road, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, or to any racetrack chaplaincy program.
