Simpson, Montgomery named to IHHA Hall of Fame

The Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce that the following individuals were chosen for induction into the Illinois Harness Racing Hall of Fame.
The Living Inductees will be Dirk Simpson and Gene Montgomery and the Equine Inductees will be Masterofhisdomain and Life's A Holiday.
Also being honored with special recognition will be Persons of the Year Tom and Rose Lewandowski, co-Caretakers of the Year Juan Franco and Isbi Herrera and Hosea Williams, for a lifetime of dedication.
Also to be honored are Maywood and Balmoral Park's Driver of the Year, Mike Oosting; Maywood Park Trainer of the Year, Angie Affrunti; and Balmoral Park Trainer of the Year, Nelson Willis.
Their achievements will be celebrated on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at the IHHA's annual Hall of Fame dinner at the Doubletree Hotel in Alsip, Ill., located a 5000 W. 127th St in Alsip. Call (708) 371-7300 for room reservations.
Tickets are priced at $35 per persion. The event will feature an open bar, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., followed by dinner, dancing, the presentation of awards and a door prize drawing.
