Raider Rain looked every bit the 1-9 odds he was backed down to at Woodbine Friday night (Jan. 30) as he was a good-looking 1:58 winner in a $16,000(C) division of the second leg of the Snowshoe Pacing Series.

With Chris Christoforou in the sulky, the 4-year-old Raider Rain kept rival Ph Tidal Wave at bay through the stretch to win by a half length and post his second win in four starts in 2004. Retrospect finished third.

Randy Waples urged Pick A Trail in deep stretch to go by leading Tyberboy to win the second Snowshoe division. The 3-year-old Pick A Trail crossed the wire in 1:57.1. Genghis Pan, who posted a 14-1 upset in last week's opening series leg, finished third.
