Southwind Allaire wins

Hambletonian Oaks winner Southwind Allaire cruised to a 1:57.3 victory Friday night at The Red Mile in the second of two $12,000 divisions of the Max Hempt Memorial late closer for 3-year-old filly trotters.



Ron Pierce was in the bike as the daughter of Muscles Yankee scored by two lengths over Sunday Yankee and Mike Lachance. Mass Protest and Jacqueline Ingrassia were third.



Jimmy Takter trains the filly who has won six of 11 starts for Canadians Robert Anderson and David Wilmot.



Takter was also the winning trainer as well as the winning driver in the first division as he rallied Tasty Chip in the lane for a 1:55.1 victory over Frisky Fergi and Jim Doherty. V G Eagle Express was third for Mark O'Mara.



Tasty Chip, a daughter of Pine Chip, has won three of 13 starts this year for owners Robert and David Anderson.
