Steve Stewart, who operates Hunterton Farm in Paris, Ky., with his wife, Cindy, has been appointed to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission by Gov. Steve Beshear. Stewart will take the seat held by Standardbred breeder Alan J. Leavitt of Walnut Hall Ltd.
Stewart has bred and raced horses in the Bluegrass for more than 30 years and in recent years has been cracking the top 10 leading money-winning breeder listing. Hunterton Farm has grown to 900-plus acres with approximately 200 broodmares in residence annually.
