Summer Indian quarter-poled to the lead for Eric Ledford and made the rest look easy in capturing Monday's $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows in a sharp 1:53.3 over a "good” surface.”
 
Summer Indian allowed his stablemate, Run And Tell Pap, to grab the early lead before unleashing the decisive move. He downed Run And Tell Pap by 1 1/4 lengths, with Count Me In third.
