The Pennsylvania State Senate approved a bill to legalize table games at the state's casinos and racinos on Tuesday evening by a vote of 28-22. The bill will move on to the House on Wednesday, and Gov. Ed Rendell has said he hopes it will be on his desk by Friday so he can avoid laying off about 1,000 state workers.
The table games bill is expected to have implications for the horse racing industry, including a reduction in the percentage of slots revenues going to purses.
