Andrew McCarthy sent Tall Drink Hanover to the front early in the $100,362 Shady Daisy for three-year-old pacing fillies, sponsored by Deo Volente Farms, and the Captaintreacherous-Take Into Account filly responded with a Meadowlands track record. The sophomore stormed to a 1:48 effort for trainer Tony Alagna, erasing JK Shesalady’s 2014 mark of 1:50.2.

Drawing post four in the field of nine, McCarthy wasted little time moving Tall Drink Hanover to the front. She briefly raced second to Stonebridge Soul before brushing to the front and setting fractions of :54.3 and 1:22. In the stretch, Yannick Gringras flipped three-wide with Warrawee Ubeaut and tried to reel in the winner, but had too much ground to make up in the lane and managed third. Trillions Hanover showed pace late, finishing second to the winner.

Owned by Alagna Racing LLC, Marvin Katz and Riverview Racing, Tall Drink Hanover was bred by Hanover Shoe Farms. The filly has won four of eight seasonal starts, and 11 of 19 career trips behind the starting gate. The winning time shaved two full seconds off the pacer’s previous best. The victory added $50,181 to Tall Drink Hanover’s tally, which is now $519,603. The filly paid $9.40, $5.20 and $3.20.
