This week's Harnessracing.com’s Weekend Preview noted rumors were circulating regarding the possible sale of world champion pacer Lather Up, and on Friday afternoon the purchase was confirmed.
In a deal reported by Ernie Martinez of Martinez Equine, 50 percent of Lather Up has been sold to a group headed by Taylor Made Sales and Stallions by owners Gary and Barbara Isles. Martinez also brokered Taylor Made’s previous Standardbred entity, the imported Down Under wonder horse Lazarus N.
“We were pleased with the reception accorded Lazarus N in his first breeding season at Deo Volente Farms and are confident this co-world champion Lather Up will be proportionately received” offered Taylor Made’s CEO Duncan Taylor.
“Further details will be released as they become available,” said Martinez. “For now it’s on to Hoosier Park for (Friday night’s) running of the Dan Patch.”
