Ten go in single Cane elim

Ten 3-year-old male pacers have been entered in this year’s Cane Pace at Freehold Raceway, with one elimination to knock out two contested Saturday afternoon. The $334,875 Cane final will be held Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.



The field for this year’s opening jewel of pacing’s Triple Crown brings together North America Cup winner Mantacular, who has drawn post two, Meadowlands Pace winner Holborn Hanover, who has drawn post eight, and Adios winner Timesareachanging, who has drawn post six. Also in the field is Metropolitan, runner-up in the NA Cup and third-pace finisher in the Meadowlands Pace.
