Theater Production gave a five-star performance in the first of two $20,000 divisions of the first leg of the Father Foley Series at the Meadowlands Sunday afternoon (April 18). With David Miller driving, Theater Production sat a perfect trip before drawing clear to a 1:55 victory.

Theater Production, a 5-year-old son of Movie Mogul, trotted away from his rivals, crossing the wire 3 1/4 lengths ahead of runner-up Solicitor Hanover (Mike Lachance). Finishing third behind the 2-5 favored winner was Patio Pete (Daniel Dube).

Trained by John Marshall for owner Robert Blackman Jr., Theater Production was a close second in his season debut last week at the Meadowlands in a conditioned event. The win was his ninth in 32 career starts, boosting his earnings to $124,296.

Jimmy Takter directed his trainee Cordial Martini to an 11-1 upset victory in the second Father Foley split. Takter moved Cordial Martini wide in the lane and the 5-year-old son of Lindy Lane was able to edge Sundown Score (George Brennan) by a neck at the wire in 1:56.1. Golden Blend N (Cat Manzi) was third.

The time was a career best for Cordial Martini, who is owned by Rex King, Eugene Thayer, Allen Villar and Joseph Currier. The win was the 11th of his career, pushing his bankroll to $71,671.
