I Am I Said and Brian Sears swept past the leaders in deep stretch and posted a 1:52 victory in the third and fastest division of the Exit 16W Series opening leg at the Meadowlands Friday night. Other division winners were Prince Vince in 1:52.2 and Francam, also in 1:52.2.

I Am I Said, a 4-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear, scored his second straight victory in three season starts with the victory over Lil Ang Fra (Ron Pierce) and Flight Sign (Daniel Dube).

In the first division Prince Vince (Cat Manzi) shot into the lead going to the three quarters and drew off by more than five lengths before cruising to the wire with a lifetime best effort over Ruff Door (David Miller) and Vintage Cam (Dube). The 4-year-old Sportsmaster gelding was winless in four previous starts this year.

In the second division Francam (Pierce), the season's fastest performer off a 1:49.1 mile in the opening leg of the Clyde Hirt Series a month ago, came up the pylons to edge the pacesetting Master This (Miller) by a neck with Shattered Halo (John Campbell) coming on to be third.

A 4-year-old gelding by Cambest, Francam rebounds from fifth-place finishes in the second leg and final of the Clyde Hirt Series.
