Tirade Hanover (Crazed) was the fastest of the winners in the New York Sire Stakes races for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on the Tuesday card at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
Tirade Hanover, trained by Tyler Raymer, recently added trotting hobbles and has been sharp ever since. On Tuesday night, Jim Morrill Jr. moved Tirade Hanover first-over and he just kept plugging away before drawing away late from rival Pine Credit (Brandon Simpson) before prevailing in 1:55.4.
Tirade Hanover's victory in the $76,925 Sire Stakes was the fastest win among the stakes races on the evening. Crazy About Pat (Crazed) was the easiest winner of the night as he and Hall of Famer Cat Manzi powered away from the competition to win in 1:57.3 by open lengths to move the sophomores earnings to over the $200,000 mark this season.
Rolls Blue Chip (Credit Winner) and Wally Hennessey pulled off the stakes races' biggest upset as the Tom Durand-trained 3 year old went wire to wire in 1:57, scoring at odds of 7-1. The Sire Stakes will return to town on Saturday night when two year old filly pacers highlight the card. (Saratoga)
