Top 6 in elim to advance

North America Cup one-two finishers Total Truth and Feelin Friskie have received byes directly into the Cane Pace final at Freehold, with eight other 3-year-old colt pacers going postward Saturday in a single $100,000 elimination. The top six in the elim will advance to meet the two bye finalists, who received the free pass into the Sept. 4 final by virtue of being the richest among the entrants.

Included in the elim field of eight are Took Hanover, whose last pari-mutuel start was a 1:49 victory in the Oliver Wendell Holmes at the Meadowlands Aug. 5, and True North Hanover, who romped to an easy victory in the Cleveland Classic at Northfield Park last Saturday night.

Here is the draw for the elimination for the Cane Pace, the first leg of this year’s Pacing Triple Crown:
