A major storm that roared through Lexington, Ky., Thursday night (May 27) did heavy damage to parts of the city, including the area near the Fasig-Tipton Sales Arena that is the site of the Kentucky Standardbred fall yearling sale.

An unconfirmed tornado struck the new Masterson Station subdivision on the north side of town and funnel clouds were spotted in other parts. The Waffle House restaurant that was near Fasig-Tipton was demolished by the storm and the roof of the Cracker Barrel restaurant was ripped off.
