Treasure Dreams moved smartly first-over to grind down Matrona and capture her $15,000 opening-leg division of the Margaret Provost Memorial Trot Wednesday at The Meadows. The series for 3-year-old fillies honors the memory of Margaret Provost, longtime owner of Standardbreds at The Meadows.

Treasure Dreams was fourth when Tony Hall sent her after Matrona. The daughter of Winning Mister-Magic Treasure pressured Matrona relentlessly and downed her by a half-length in 2:00.1. Pembroke Mystery rallied for show. Norm Parker trains Treasure Dreams for owner/breeder Bob Key.

In the other $15,000 Provost split, Perfect Image also used a determined uncovered bid to overtake the leader, Kenziesky Hanover, in the shadow of the wire and defeat her by a neck in 2:01. Hiker Hanover completed the ticket. Trainer/driver Doug Snyder piloted the daughter of Muscle Hill-Hawaiianphotograph for Frank Poerio Jr. (The Meadows)
