One week ago, the Erv Miller-trained Trolley worked out a perfect pocket trip on the way to gunning down a heavy favorite in the Friday night conditioned trotting feature at the Meadowlands.
Trolley left nothing to chance this time around, blasting to the lead just after the quarter and taking the Big M Friday night feature for a second straight week.
The 5-year-old son of Donato Hanover-Lakeside Bride left the gate and was parked around the first turn. He was then urged to the lead by driver Marcus Miller just after the quarter and was permitted to rate the middle half in :57, leaving more than enough gas in his tank to win for the 10th time in just 23 lifetime starts.
The pocket-sitting Opulent Yankee raced well for second, finishing three-quarters of a length behind the winner. Misslarose was third.
Trolley, who finished second to 1-5 shot Southwind Frank in the $500,000 Beal Memorial in 2016, has now earned just over $280,000 for owners Paymaq Racing, L.L. Mathias, G. Gillis and L.A. Willinger.
As the 3-5 public choice, Trolley paid $3.20 to win after trotting the mile in 1:52.1.
