Three-year-old colt trotter Maple Leaf Noble remained perfect in 18 career starts Thursday night as he captured one of two Atlantic Sire Stakes divisions at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia. Amazingly, the unbeaten trotter has won all but one of his races by a margin of at least two lengths.

The winningest freshman trotter in North America last year with 15 victories, Maple Leaf Noble is a son of Black River owned by breeder Ralph Annear in partnership with Jack Panting. Annear also trains and drives.

Maple Leaf Noble won his latest with a 2:03.4 effort, scoring by more than six lengths. He posted his career best of 2:02.1 at Summerside Raceway in Prince Edward Island in his 2006 debut July 5.

The record for the longest winning streak in history belongs to Carry Nagle, who won 41 straight in 1937-38.
