Trotters sparkle in Coons

Call City Hall and SF Misty, two of the most consistent performers on the Michigan circuit, won their respective Charles Coon Memorial finals for 4-year-old trotters at the Croswell, Mich. fairgrounds Wednesday night (June 23).



Call City Hall won his $10,852 Coon elim by four lengths in 2:00.2 for trainer-driver Todd Buter, with Alterity, driven by Larry Smith for trainer Cliff Makin, winning the second split in 2:03. Call City Hall came back in the $32,556 final to win by two lengths over TC Noble in 1:59.4.



A son of Wall Street Banker-Sarah Dew, Call City Hall now has four wins in seven starts this year. He has a career slate of 35-23-6-2, missing only one check for owners James Marion and Lynette Buter on his way to a bankroll of $210,653.



SF Misty is now a 12-time winner in 2004 after sweeping her $10,852 Coon elim and $31,656 final. Trained by Linda Wallis and driven by Kevin Wallis, SF Misty won her heats in 2:00.3 and 1:57.1. Vivacious Raider, driven by Robert Sparling Jr. for trainer Anthony Montini, won the second Coon elim in 1:57.3.



SF Misty now has a career ledger of 47-28-5-6, missing just two checks for owner Paul Ministrelli. The daughter of Turbo Twin-Possible Showers has lifetime earnings of $183,337.
