Win Missy B made every call a winning one en route to victory in the first of two $28,426 Reynolds Memorial divisions for 3-year-old filly trotters on Friday night at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Brian Sears reined the Conway Hall lass to a 3 ½-length tally over D’Orsay in a career best 1:52.4. It was five lengths back to Riverfest in third. The overwhelming favorite, Win Missy B returned $2.20 in the second race.
She is now two-for-five on the season. Win Missy B’s eight victories as a 2-year-old included the Goldsmith Maid and Peaceful Way finals. She also finished second in the Breeders Crown behind Check Me Out, which helped propel her to a bankroll of $836,661 for the season. Charlie Norris trains the homebred of Robert Key of Leechburg, PA.
W. J. Donovan’s Maven romped to a nine-length victory in the second Reynolds division. She trotted the mile in 1:53.4 with Yannick Gingras in the sulky. The daughter of Glidemaster, trained by Jonas Czernyson, improved her record to three wins in five starts this season.
Two-year-old pacers also stepped out in Reynolds action. Nikki Beach and Shebestingin captured the fillies’ divisions. Brittany Farms’ Nikki Beach, from the first crop by Somebeachsomewhere, won her career debut in 1:53.2 under the guidance of Brian Sears. Tony Alagna trains the $90,000 yearling.
Shesbestingin followed up her Simpson Memorial win with a 1:53.4 clocking for driver David Miller and trainer Joe Holloway. Perfect in two starts, the daughter of Bettor’s Delight-Armbro Tussle was a $55,000 yearling purchase at Harrisburg by Val D’Or Farms, Ted Gewertz and Linda and Lee Devisser. She is a sister to the gritty veteran Hop Sing.
Source Of Pride rebounded from a miscue in his career debut to win the colts’ event in 1:52.4 with Tim Tetrick in the sulky. Jimmy Takter trains the $280,000 yearling buy for Brittany Farms, Marvin Katz, Al Libfeld, Sam Goldband and Louie Camara. A brother to American Jewel, Source Of Pride is by American Ideal out of the Camluck mare Trim Hanover. (Meadowlands)
