Winning Mister dies of colic at age 12

Trotting sire and million-dollar winner Winning Mister 6, 1:51.3, has died of colic. The 12-year-old stallion resided at the farm of his breeder-owner, Robert Key.

Trained at age two by Rich Gillock, Winning Mister showed talent and finished second in the Ontario Sires Stakes Super Final. At age three he competed in major events and finished second in the Old Oaken Bucket. At age five he won the Earl Rowe Memorial in Canada and finished second to Mister Herbie in the Cutler Memorial at the Meadowlands.

Winning Mister stood at stud from 2013-2017 and bred modest-sized books.
