Construction at Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway is continuing at a swift pace as the renovation of the 47-year-old building dashes towards the June 30 finish line and opening date.

The new gaming venue facility will accommodate 1,743 video gaming machines (VGMs), the 350 seat Winner's Circle buffet, the Mighty Mmmm Food Court and the 75 seat Lava Lounge featuring nightly entertainment.

The crew from Fluor Corporation, the general contracting firm, began reconstructing the site venue in March. Now, the brightly colored Axminster carpeting has arrived and is being installed; painting is being finished, the stage, cashier areas and buffet are being built and machine bases are being installed. In addition, Mighty M Gaming has hired more than half of the 425 employees it needs to operate the facility.

According to John Manzi, publicity manager for Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, Mighty M Gaming expects the video gaming machines to arrive in a week or two. "We're very pleased by the progress we have made." Manzi said. "In a few short weeks we have transformed an ugly duckling into a swan. The building couldn't look better. "

Mighty M Gaming is currently taking applications for the new gaming venue. Those interested in applying should submit resumes or complete job applications in person at the Mighty M Gaming employment office, located at 397 Broadway in Monticello.
