Ken Warkentin and Worship won their respective $49,635 divisions of eliminations for the Yonkers Trot for 3 year olds at Freehold Raceway on Saturday afternoon. The first four finishers in each division will return for the $297,817 final Aug. 20.

Ken Warkentin was sent to the lead by driver David Miller from post two and set fractions of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:28.4 on his way to 1:57 victory. Finishing 1 1/2 lengths behind in second was Hambletonian fourth-place finisher Strong Yankee and Trond Smedshammer, who raced first-over from the half. Maximum Return (Cat Manzi) finished third with Clearaway (Ray Schnittker) fourth.

Ken Warkentin's victory was his third of the year in six outings. The son of Yankee Glide made a break in his Hambletonian elimination and then in his following start again at the Meadowlands was the victim of interference that may have cost him the race, settling for second in the Townsend Ackerman. The Jimmy Takter trainee, who was last year's divisional champion, went off the prohibitive favorite and returned $2.60 to win.

Worship rallied late to win the second elim in 1:57.2 for driver Stephane Bouchard. The son of Enjoy Lavec finished 1 1/2 lengths ahead of tempo-setter Yankee Slugfest (Yannick Gingras). Keaton Zet (Jimmy Takter) was third with Med Vac (Daniel Dube) fourth.

Worship's win was his second of the year in six starts. The Arild Eggen-trained colt rewarded his supporters with a win mutuel of $29.60.
