Trainer Bob Young made the most of his trip to Woodbine Racetrack Friday night as the veteran trainer captured both $25,000 Princess Stakes eliminations.
Young and driver Roger Mayotte teamed together with Dreaming in the first elimination and his son, Scott, in the second elimination with O K Dynasty. In doing so, Scott Young earned his first driving victory at Woodbine.
Dreaming went gate to wire to capture the first elimination in a comfortable 1:54.1. The daughter of Rocknroll Hanover easily established command in the early going for Mayotte from post four, to lead her rivals past a :28 opening panel. Highland Candy Bar (Garrett Whelan) and Lucky Taryn (Mario Baillargeon) were sitting second and third, respectively.
Dreaming went unharmed heading towards the half, as she got there in a soft :58.1. Mater Deo (Mark MacDonald) began the first-over attack around the final turn with Rockabye Babe (Mike Saftic) tracking her. Mater Deo was still two lengths off Dreaming past three-quarters in 1:26.3.
Turning for home, Mayotte asked his charge for more pace and the four-time winner responded, using a :27.4 final quarter to capture the victory. Mater Deo leveled off down the stretch but still finished second over Highland Candy Bar, who used a ground-saving trip to finish third.
Dreaming now has a 4-0-1 record from 10 career starts for trainer Bob Young and owners Canamerica Capital Corp and Hyatt Holdings Inc. Her bankroll has now lifted to $44,040 and she paid $7.50 for the win.
In the second elimination, Scott Young was in the pocket for most of the mile before sprinting home in deep stretch to score the victory in 1:54.
Itstimeformetofly (Jack Moiseyev) rushed to the lead in the early going with O K Dynasty leaving hard as well. Itstimeformetofly would lead past the opening panel in a quick :26.4, with O K Dynasty in the two hole, ahead of Mach Lady (Scott Zeron).
Itstimeformetofly would continue to lead past the half in :56.1 and into the final turn. Cheap N Easy (Keith Oliver) angled to the outside and attacked first-over with Sagebrush Susie (Luc Ouellette) tracking her.
Cheap N Easy was just a half-length behind Itstimeformetofly past three-quarters in 1:24.1 with O K Dynasty enjoying the golden two-hole trip.

Down the stretch, Cheap N Easy had all she could handle as Itstimeformetofly turned on the after-burners but O K Dynasty was able to stay with the pacesetter. With a sixteenth of racetrack remaining, Itstimeformetofly began to tire as Young showed his charge clear racetrack and O K Dynasty got up in the final strides to score the victory.
O K Dynasty, a daughter of Art Major, enjoyed her third career win as her lifetime earnings increased to $53,032 for Young and co-owners Oak Knoll Stables, Brian Barton and Peter Berry. She paid $32.10.

The $60,000 final will line up as follows:

4) Artic Byrd
5) Highland Candy Bar
6) Camille
7) Mater Deo
