On Thursday night, Meadowlands Television will turn over hosting duties to Darin Zoccali and John Massey, a pair of young bettors who will talk about what attracts them to harness racing and share their perspective on reaching a younger generation of fans on the pre-card broadcast. He\'s involved as a Standardbred owner with his father, Sandy, in several partnerships and has been a regular fill-in on Meadowlands TV for both harness and Thoroughbred broadcasts over the past couple of years.
Massey, 22, is a resident of Jackson, N.J., and is currently working on his Ph. D in Early Modern European History at The City University of New York. Massey first began coming to the track with friends while attending St. Peter\'s College in Jersey City. He was a finalist in Grand River Raceway\'s Amateur Announcer contest last year and also served on a panel discussing the racing fan of the future for the Hambletonian Society last summer.
Also on the Thursday night pre-card show, Bob \"Hollywood\" Heyden will interview driver Richie Silverman who will attempt a return to driving at the Meadowlands on regular basis after relocating to Florida a few years ago. (Meadowlands)
