Qualifiers scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Ocean Downs have been pushed back to 6 p.m., prior to the start of the Wednesday night race card at 7:05 p.m. A “microburst” of a thunderstorm cell wiped out 500 feet of perimeter fencing. Longtime Standardbred owner Harry Locke, 89, passed away peacefully on July 4 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in Oshawa, Ont. Mr. Locke owned such notables as Deal Direct, Jet Pace and Northwest. Sugg, MacDonald injured in track accidents

On Monday night, John "Duke" Sugg, well known in the Ohio harness racing community, was injured in an accident while driving in a race at the Tiffin, Ohio, fair.   Sugg, 48, was life-flighted to Toledo Hospital.
